Every wildlife enthusiast’s dream and birdwatcher’s paradise, Nameri National Park is located in the foothills of eastern Himalayas in Sonitpur district. Home to many wild elephants, Nameri is also a tiger reserve. The park is a haven for around 400 bird species including the endangered white winged wood duck. Other avian species include blue-eared Kingfisher, great, wreathed and rufous-necked hornbills, hill blue flycatcher, red-throated pipit, slender billed oriole and white-crowned forktail. Exotic flora is yet another attraction of Nameri.
